White & Glow

Get healthy, glowing skin from the inside out. White & Glow is an intravenous (IV) drip of glutathione with vitamin C for a brighter, more even skin tone. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

The formula is designed to prevent dark spots from within. It combines a melanin-generation suppressor and melanin-function controller, vitamin C, with glutathione and antioxidants. It is a must for life in Thailand, where it is impossible to avoid damage from strong sunlight.

What it is and how it works

Why skin darkens

Genetics and sun exposure are the major causes of skin coloring. When skin is exposed to the sun, it makes more melanin to protect its lower layers from damage. As the skin becomes damaged, it produces even more melanin. This extra melanin makes some people's skin darker, or tanned.

Photo-aging: the real enemy of your skin

Wrinkles, fine lines and pigmentation are skin problems that often appear as we age. We like to blame another birthday, but the main culprit is photo-aging: damage to the skin caused by sunlight and ultraviolet (UV) light. Photo-aging is responsible for 90 percent of visible changes to the skin and is the direct result of all the sun damage you have been exposed to throughout your life.

Lighten and protect your skin with high doses of antioxidants

Antioxidants neutralize free radicals to protect your skin from damage. Some antioxidants also brighten the skin, calm irritation and even smooth fine lines. If biochemistry were an action movie, antioxidants would be the crime-fighting heroes, scavenging free radicals and making the world a healthier place, a superhero able to accomplish feats other nutrients can only dream of.

Glutathione is a substance naturally produced by our cells. This hardworking molecule acts as a major antioxidant and free radical scavenger and is an essential part of liver detoxification. As well as protecting cells against the destructive effects of free radicals and detoxifying harmful substances such as drugs and environmental pollutants, it has been studied in the treatment of a number of serious medical conditions, including Parkinson's disease, heart disease, kidney disease, HIV and cancer.

What is in the drip

  • Glutathione. A highly concentrated dose of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that supports the immune system, detoxifies your body, removes free radicals, boosts energy levels and improves neurodegenerative diseases. Glutathione also works naturally with your body to promote lighter skin: it inhibits the production of melanin (by deactivating tyrosinase, the enzyme that makes melanin), reducing the concentration of pigment in the skin. The result is a brighter, more even skin tone and the famous "glutathione glow".

  • Vitamin C. A melanin-generation suppressor and melanin-function controller that helps prevent dark spots from within. Vitamin C is also a powerful antioxidant and is essential for collagen production, which contributes to healthy, radiant skin.

Why IV rather than tablets

IV therapy delivers a high concentration of nutrients directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system, so they are absorbed faster and more efficiently. This matters for both ingredients. Stomach enzymes break down swallowed glutathione before it can be absorbed, and only about 18% of the vitamin C we swallow is absorbed, less as we age. By IV, both go straight into the blood and are carried throughout the body, including to the skin.

What it is for

  • Skin tone: a whiter, glowing complexion, brighter and more even

  • Skin texture: smooth, soft skin

  • Anti-aging: protects against, and reverses, sun damage

  • Detox: supports liver detoxification

Who it is for

  • People living in or visiting Thailand, where strong sunlight is hard to avoid

  • People with pigmentation, dark spots or uneven skin tone

  • People with signs of photo-aging, such as fine lines and sun damage

  • People who want brighter, glowing skin from the inside out

The treatment

The drip takes about 30 to 45 minutes, so bring a book to read or some music to relax to.

  • Screening. Before your first drip, your medical history is reviewed to check that the drip is suitable for you.

  • The drip. You sit in a comfortable recliner chair. A small tube is placed in a vein in your arm; it feels much like having blood drawn for a lab test. The drip then flows slowly into your bloodstream. Every drip is freshly prepared for you.

  • Afterwards. You can return to your normal day.

About 70% of patients see a remarkable difference after their first session; the rest need 2 to 3 sessions to feel the full effect. This depends on your lifestyle and your condition before treatment. The effect generally lasts 4 to 12 weeks, depending on your lifestyle, and a monthly drip is usually recommended for maximum effect. The number of sessions is always set by your doctor after an in-person assessment. Several treatments can be combined on the same day, as your doctor advises.

Before and aftercare

  • Eat. Please eat before your drip. Don't come on an empty stomach. Some ingredients can cause nausea if infused on an empty stomach, and a light meal or snack helps your body absorb the drip more effectively.

  • Hydrate. Drink a few glasses of water before your appointment. Your body responds better to the drip if you arrive hydrated, and veins are smaller and harder to find when you are dehydrated.

  • Wear comfortable clothes. A short-sleeved top, or sleeves that roll up above the elbow, is best. We have blankets to keep you warm if you tend to get cold.

  • Relax and bring a book or music. Take a few minutes to relax once you are seated, and enjoy the time with a book or your favorite music.

Quality and safety

  • Ingredients are imported through official distributors.

  • Every drip is prepared under strict safety guidelines, with sterile technique. Every drip is fresh and new.

  • Your drip is given by a well-trained, experienced team, with a doctor on site for consultations and to ensure the best possible care.

  • We use hospital-standard equipment.

  • Your medical history is reviewed before treatment.

  • Please eat before your drip. Don't come on an empty stomach.

The science

Glutathione and skin pigmentation

In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study, healthy women took oral glutathione (250 mg a day, in reduced or oxidized form) or a placebo for 12 weeks. Both forms tended to reduce the melanin index and UV spots on the face and arms, the reduced form significantly reduced wrinkles at some sites, and both showed a trend toward more elastic skin, with no serious adverse effects.
