TB-500: the one I add when I’m hurt
TB-500 isn’t something I run all the time. It comes out when I’ve injured myself, usually alongside BPC-157, and sometimes on its own. This page covers when I’ve used it, what I was told about it, and the questions people ask me most.

Why I tried it
The rule here is that we don’t offer anything we haven’t tried on ourselves first. TB-500 went through me the same way everything else did.
For me the reason was the gym. I’ve seen how quickly things slide when I’m kept out of it, and every week off costs more than the week before.
The shoulder
The clearest time I used it was my shoulder. An injury like that would normally keep me out of the gym for several weeks. I ran TB-500 together with BPC-157, and I was out for a few days. The injury also didn’t hang around afterwards. It healed, and it didn’t turn into one of those problems that nags at you for months.
It’s the same shoulder I wrote about on the BPC-157 page, because I used both on it.
That’s one shoulder, and it’s mine. “I was fine” is not the same sentence as “you’ll be fine.”
Together or on its own
I don’t always run them as a pair. Sometimes I use one, sometimes both, depending on what my body is telling me at the time. The explanation I was given for pairing them is that the two work in complementary ways, so each one covers ground the other doesn’t.
When it’s someone else, I was told that decision belongs to the doctor, based on what that person actually needs.
Do I still use it?
Yes, when I’m hurt. It isn’t one of the three I’m running right now, because I’m not injured. When it does come out, it counts toward my ceiling. I run two or three peptides at a time, in cycles, and never more. There’s more on that on the Peptides page.
What I was told about it
I don’t explain how things work in my own words. What follows is the explanation I was given.
What it’s said to do. I was told TB-500 promotes rapid wound healing and tissue repair while reducing inflammation. I was also told it supports muscle regeneration and cardiovascular health, and that this is why it’s seen as valuable for recovery and athletic performance.
What it’s been studied for. The explanation I was given covers:
-
soft-tissue repair and wound healing
-
muscle and tendon recovery
-
reducing inflammation
-
supporting angiogenesis, which is the forming of new blood vessels
-
overall recovery and tissue regeneration
I was also told it’s used for hair growth.
Why it’s paired with BPC-157. The way it was put to me is that BPC-157 is often used for a specific injury, while TB-500 is described as supporting healing across the whole body. That is why the two are said to work together.
Questions I get asked
Is it the same thing as BPC-157?
No. They’re two different peptides that I often use at the same time. What I noticed and what I was told about BPC-157 is on its own page.
Do you mix it yourself?
Yes. It comes as a vial, and I add the water myself. I won’t put amounts or steps on this page, because that part belongs with a doctor, not a website.
Is it safe?
I’ve never had a side effect from it. That’s my body, not a promise about yours. The list I was shown of what can happen:
-
redness, swelling or tenderness where it’s injected
-
headache or tiredness
-
temporary muscle or joint discomfort
I was told most reported effects are mild. I was also told that long-term safety data in people is limited, and that anything unusual or persistent should go straight back to the doctor. I’m giving you both halves because I was given both.
I was shown a list of who it isn’t for:
-
pregnancy or breastfeeding
-
a known sensitivity to peptide products
-
active cancer, or a history of a hormone-sensitive cancer
-
severe medical conditions that aren’t under control
I was also told there are no well-established studies on how it interacts with other medicines in people. The ones I was told a doctor needs to know about are blood thinners and antiplatelets, steroids and immunosuppressants, and other injectable peptides or hormone treatments.
Can you combine it with other peptides?
I use it with BPC-157 when I’m injured. I keep to two or three peptides at a time.
