Neuro-Peptide Cerebrolysin

Neuro-Peptide Cerebrolysin is a 1-hour IV of brain-derived peptides for focus and cognitive support. It is a multi-modal neuropeptide drug with a fast onset of action that helps the brain regain and maintain its function, and it improves the brain's ability to repair itself by stimulating neurorecovery.

The human brain, a marvel of complexity, is the center of our thoughts, emotions and actions. But it is not immune to the passage of time and the wear and tear of life. Neuro-peptide therapy aims to protect brain cells, support their repair and keep the brain's networks healthy, leading to a sharper mind and a better quality of life.

What it is and how it works

Neuro-Peptide is a neurotrophic peptidergic drug. It is derived from pig brain tissue and contains a complex mixture of bioactive peptides that promote the growth, repair and protection of nerve cells (neurons). It is clinically proven and of European (Austrian) quality.

The treatment supports the brain's natural healing processes, such as growing new nerve cells and blood vessels, and helps keep the brain's network healthy. After events such as a stroke or head injury, it helps reduce further damage to the brain, which can affect how well a person moves and thinks. In the early stages after such events, it also prevents the build-up of harmful proteins and reduces inflammation, which can lead to brain problems if not controlled.

Its mechanism of action works on several levels:

  • Neurotrophic stimulation: neurotrophins are a family of proteins that are crucial for the development, growth and maintenance of neurons. Neuro-Peptide enhances their production and activity, particularly brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF).

  • Protection against excitotoxicity: it reduces damage from overstimulation of the brain.

  • Reduction of free radicals: it prevents free radicals from damaging neurons through oxidative stress, helping neurons keep their structural and functional integrity.

  • Reduction of pro-apoptotic enzymes: it reduces tissue damage from programmed cell death (apoptosis).

  • Modulation of the inflammatory response: it reduces the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and helps limit harmful inflammation caused by excessive immune responses.

  • Synaptic plasticity and neuroplasticity: synapses are the connections between neurons. Neuro-Peptide enhances the brain's ability to adapt and form new connections, initiating and promoting new neural networks. This supports learning, memory and overall cognitive function.

  • Enhanced blood flow: it improves blood circulation in the brain, so neurons receive the oxygen and nutrients they need.

  • Neurogenesis, remodeling and repair: it amplifies multiple processes of protection and neurovascular recovery, increases the formation of new neurons, and helps remodel the neurovascular unit so the brain's infrastructure stays resilient.

Individual responses to treatment vary, so your doctor assesses whether the treatment is suitable for you and how it fits with your other care.

Who should not have it

The treatment is not suitable for people with:

  • seizures or epilepsy

  • severe kidney impairment

Precaution: extra care is needed if you have an allergic diathesis, meaning an inherited or natural tendency to develop allergic reactions to allergens such as pollen, dust mites, certain foods or other substances. Please tell your doctor.

The treatment

Each Neuro-Peptide session is an IV infusion of about 1 hour. You sit in a comfortable recliner while the infusion runs into a vein in your arm, with a doctor on site.

The recommended schedule depends on the reason for treatment:

  • Anti-aging / brain health: once a week for one month, three times a year.

  • Post-stroke recovery: a double dose daily for 10–20 days.

  • Traumatic brain injury: a double dose daily for 7–30 days.

  • Vascular dementia: 5 days a week for 4 weeks, 2–4 cycles per year.

  • Alzheimer's disease: 5 days a week for 4 weeks, 2–4 cycles per year.

The number of sessions is always set by your doctor after an in-person assessment. Several treatments can be combined on the same day, as your doctor advises.

Before and aftercare

  • Eat. Please have a light meal or snack before your infusion; some infusions can cause nausea on an empty stomach.

  • Hydrate. Drink a few glasses of water before you come. Veins are smaller and harder to find when you are dehydrated, and your body responds better when you are well hydrated.

  • Wear comfortable clothes. A short-sleeved top, or sleeves that roll up above the elbow, is ideal. We have blankets if you feel cold.

  • Relax and bring something to enjoy. Take a few minutes to relax and breathe once you are seated. Bring a book, magazines or your favorite music with earbuds.

Quality and safety

  • Ingredients imported through official distributors. The product is of European (Austrian) quality.

  • Years of clinical use, post-marketing studies, double-blind trials and the manufacturer's (EVER) safety database confirm its excellent safety.

  • Prepared under strict safety guidelines, with sterile technique and hospital-standard equipment.

  • Given by a well-trained, experienced team, with a doctor on site.

  • Please eat before your drip. Don't come on an empty stomach.

The science

How the brain degenerates

Brain neurodegeneration is the progressive and often irreversible decline of brain function. Several mechanisms drive it:

  • Protein aggregation: in many neurodegenerative diseases, proteins inside brain cells misfold and clump together. Beta-amyloid plaques and tau tangles in Alzheimer's disease, for example, disrupt normal cell function.

  • Oxidative stress: the brain is highly susceptible to damage from free radicals. Antioxidants play a crucial role in protecting neurons.

  • Inflammation: chronic inflammation in the brain can contribute to neurodegeneration. Microglia, the brain's immune cells, can become overactive and harm healthy neurons.

  • Neurotransmitter imbalance: disruptions in the brain's chemical messengers break down communication between neurons. This is particularly relevant in diseases such as Parkinson's.

  • Cellular energy production: mitochondria, the cell's energy producers, are essential for neuron function. Impaired mitochondrial function can lead to energy deficits and cell death.

By stimulating neurotrophic factors, protecting against oxidative stress, enhancing synaptic plasticity, reducing inflammation, improving blood flow and supporting neuronal remodeling, Neuro-Peptide acts on many of these processes at once. Its precise mechanisms are still being researched, but its clinical benefits make it a valuable tool for maintaining and enhancing brain health and cognitive function.

Post-stroke recovery

Stroke is a major cause of disability. Numerous clinical studies and trials have looked at Neuro-Peptide after stroke, and they point to:

  • Improved neurological function: stroke survivors often show better motor skills, cognitive performance, and speech and language abilities.

  • Reduced disability: improvements in mobility, less limb weakness and better daily functioning.

  • Neuroprotection: shielding brain cells from further harm and supporting their repair and regeneration, which helps minimize long-term damage.

  • Cognitive enhancement: promising results in memory, attention and problem-solving, which matters for survivors living with cognitive impairment.

  • Better quality of life: patients report more independence, less disability and an improved sense of wellbeing.

Traumatic brain injury

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) can follow accidents, falls or impacts, and can cause a wide range of cognitive and physical impairments. Studies and clinical trials suggest that Neuro-Peptide after TBI can:

  • significantly enhance neurological recovery, with better cognitive function, motor skills, and speech and language

  • protect vulnerable brain cells from further damage and support their repair, minimizing long-term deficits

  • reduce disability, including improvements in mobility, limb strength and daily functioning

  • improve memory, attention and problem-solving

  • improve quality of life, with more independence and a better sense of wellbeing

Vascular dementia

Vascular dementia often arises from impaired blood flow to the brain and can cause cognitive decline, memory loss and difficulties with daily life. Research findings include:

  • Cognitive improvement: clinical trials have consistently shown significant improvements in memory, attention and problem-solving.

  • Neuroprotection: safeguarding brain cells from further damage and supporting their repair helps slow the progression of the disease.

  • Enhanced blood flow: Neuro-Peptide has been shown to improve cerebral blood circulation, so the brain receives the oxygen and nutrients it needs.

  • Fewer behavioral symptoms: research suggests it may reduce the behavioral and psychological symptoms of vascular dementia, improving quality of life for patients and caregivers.

  • Better daily functioning: helping patients keep a higher level of independence.

Alzheimer's disease

Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that takes away memory, cognitive abilities and independence. There is no cure, but research into treatments such as Neuro-Peptide offers hope. Studies suggest:

  • Cognitive improvement: better memory, attention and overall cognitive performance.

  • Neuroprotection: Alzheimer's is characterized by abnormal protein deposits such as beta-amyloid plaques. Neuro-Peptide may help limit this process by shielding brain cells from further damage and supporting their repair.

  • Synaptic enhancement: improved synaptic plasticity, which may contribute to better brain function.

  • Anti-inflammatory effects: reducing the chronic brain inflammation associated with Alzheimer's, protecting neurons.

  • Better quality of life: patients often report more independence, slower cognitive decline and better overall wellbeing.

Research into the full extent of Neuro-Peptide's benefits in all of these conditions is ongoing.
